ABODE MERCANTILE is a home, gourmet and gift shoppe located in the popular Fatherland District of East Nashville, Tennessee. Our shoppe opened in 2013 as one of the original tenants in the Shoppes On Fatherland and has grown with the development of the area. We have an established local customer base and the area hosts many out-of-state visitors. Our daily intention is to create a warm and welcoming destination for everyone who comes through our doors. The experience we provide each guest is much more than amazing shopping-it is the pooling of talent and the personality of our shoppe family.
ABOUT OUR MERCHANDISE :
We are a local Nashville small business that celebrates other local entrepreneurs by providing an outlet for their creations. Our product offerings cover a wide spectrum of customer wants and needs making the shoppe perfect for personal enjoyment and gift-giving. The gourmet pantry area is filled with delicious local and regional goods perfect for enjoying or gift-giving. Our home décor, candle and accessory items provide a constantly changing and seasonal backdrop to keep the shoppe fresh and current. The jewelry collection showcases the work of several local artists and their one-of-a-kind treasures. Our bath & spa area features several locally recognized brands along side our exclusive Soak Body Company products. A nook dedicated to ‘all things Nashville’ is a hot spot for our visiting guests and local patrons showing their support for our amazing city. We round out these offerings with baby and children items, books, serveware and other unique and timely items.
ABOUT OUR SHOPPE FAMILY:
We are looking for energetic individuals who thrive on providing amazing customer experiences to join our shoppe family. Dependability and passion for a job well done are critical to deliver the customer experience we provide. A history of going above and beyond for clients, proven ability to self-motivate and enthusiasm for the goods we sell are of primary importance. Attention to detail is essential in handling transactions, customer follow up, inventory management and daily duties. Our shoppe environment is a fun and creative space where taking care of our guests is the priority.
GENERAL HOUR INFORMATION:
We are open Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm and Sundays 11am-4pm. We have extended shopping hours during the Holiday Season. We are open daily (including holidays) with the exception of Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day. We close early on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
GUEST EXPERIENCE ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION
Guest Responsibilities:
*Providing a warm and welcoming environment for guests
*Assisting guests with product selection/suggestions as needed
*Handling guest checkout and loyalty program facilitation
*Assisting with online guest orders as needed
Operational Responsibilities:
*Receiving and displaying new merchandise
*Replenishing sold merchandise
*Maintaining shoppe cleanliness and visual standards
Physical & Schedule Requirements:
*Available to work agreed upon schedule (the shoppe is open daily and on most holidays)
*Able to safely lift and move boxes
*Able to stand for extended periods of time
*Comfortable climbing small ladders
Skills & Abilities:
*Eye for detail and accuracy
*Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to work as part of a team
*Ability to utilize point-of-sale system with provided training
*Ability to create social media posts with provided training
